Bac Giang bags one prize at “Green Invention Award”

(BGO) - The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment jointly held the 2nd “Green Invention” Award Ceremony 2018 on 28 December in Hanoi.

The invention titled “new vitality from recycled woods” by the group of authors Luong Van Tuan and Luong Tien Thanh living at Dinh Tri commune, Bac Giang city of Bac Giang province won the consolation prize. This is the first time Bac Giang winning a prize at this category.

These two authors studied to mix wood with other materials including resin plastic, pebble, glass and cement to create a number of wooden modern interior products. From vases, pots and decorative plates to tables, chairs and cupboards have unique styles with prices ranging from ten thousand to millions VND (0.4 to 44 USD or more) depending on sizes and sophistication of the products.

The 2nd contest of “Green Invention Award’ which was launched on 25 February 2018 received 285 entries of 40 provinces and cities nationwide. Finally, the Jury selected 27 outstanding inventions to be awarded.
