(BGO) - An English exchange program took place at Le Quy Don junior high school in Bac Giang city on 22 March among the key and high-quality junior high schools of Voi town in Lang Giang district, Doi Ngo town in Luc Nam district, Neo town in Yen Dung district, Than Nhan Trung in Viet Yen district and Le Quy Don junior high school.
This piloting program was held under the guidance of the provincial of Department of Education and Training with the participation of Thong Nhat English Center, leaders of the education and training divisions of the 5 districts and city, managers and English teachers of the participating schools.

Each school set up a competition team of eight grade-8 students. The contestants competed the parts of warm-up (introducing the team through role-plays and comedies), Speed-up (guessing the contents through images and video clips) and Reaching destination (giving speeches on historical relics, beautiful landscapes of the homeland and answering questions by the jury board).
Thanks to careful preparation, the contestants well completed the competition sessions especially choosing topics for the speeches. Particularly, students of Than Nhan Trung junior high school introduced Bo Da pagoda, Tho Ha ancient village and Quan Ho folk songs while students of Voi town junior high school spoke about the 1000-year-old camphor tree at Tien Luc commune.

Besides, at the exchange session with the jury and audiences, the students discussed the current issues such as environmental pollution, school violence and sex education to the youth.
The organizing board gave awards to the competition teams including two A prizes to Than Nhan Trung junior high school in Viet Yen district and Le Quy don junior high school in Bac Giang city.

This is one of the useful out-door activities helping junior high school students to improve their English listening and speaking skills. Besides, the teachers and schools gained more experiences in organizing educational activities while fostering efficiency in teaching and learning foreign languages.
