Officer at Division No 306 (Army Corps No 2) bravely saves woman jumping off bridge

(BGO) – On his way crossing Luc Nam town, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) and detecting a woman jumping off Luc Nam bridge, Captain Tran Xuan Tien (born in 1982) in Giao Yen commune, Giao Thuy district (Nam Dinh province) who works at Division No 306 (Army Corps No 2) bravely plunged to the river to save the victim.

Around 11 am on August 28, Captain Tran Xuan Tien, Commander of Company No 4, Battalion No 1, Regiment No 421, Division No 306 (Army Corps No 2) stationed at Cuong Son commune, Luc Nam district saved the life of a woman who committed suicide by throwing her to the river.

Tran Xuan Tien plunges to the river to save the woman.

The victim is Hoang Thi B (born in 1987) in Tuan Mau commune, Son Dong district. She got married with 3 children (2 daughters and a 6 month old son).

Many people join hand to rescue victim B.

According to the local witnesses, B drove the motorbike to Luc Nam bridge and pleaded with an old woman that “Please help me to raise this boy” then suddenly jumped off the bridge to the river.

B is save on the river bank.

When going across the bridge and seeing this, Tien immediately plunged to the river to save her in spite of her strong deprecation.

Together with the support from several people on boat and local residents, B was taken to the People’s Committee in Luc Nam town then returned home.
