Bac Giang strives to mobilize 2.2 million US dollars in Action month “For the poor” 2019

(BGO) - In response to the Action month “For the poor” 2019 (from 17 October to 18 November) and the social security programme 2020, the Bac Giang provincial Fatherland Front has launched the action plan aimed to mobilize 50 billion VND (2.2 million USD) for the poor and nearly poor households and disadvantage people.

Accordingly, the plan focuses on building solidarity houses, improving information access to the state policies for poor households, renovation of working methods and how to enrich the families.

Public officials and laborers in the armed forces, enterprises and public-service delivery agencies are expected to donate at least one-day’s wage/income. Business establishments are expected to donate at least 50,000 VND (2.1 USD) while each household is mobilized from 20,000 VND (0.9 USD) except for the poor and nearly poor households.

Private enterprises shall call for donation from their workers and use part of the company’s profit to support the campaign. The donation can be in cash or materials (brick or cement) to help poor households build houses.

Currently, the Fatherland Fronts at all levels are fostering propaganda about the campaign to the grassroots striving to fulfill the plan and pledge “Leaving no one behind”.

The campaign is scheduled from 17 October to 18 November 2019. US organisations support disabled, poor people in Thua Thien-Hue

Poor man to be paralytic without proper treatment
(BGO) – Duong Hoang Tra (born in 1984) in Long Van village, Phuc Son commune, Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) used to have a happy family. He worked as a carpenter and his wife named Nguyen Thi Thu worked at a garment company. They got married with 3 children, the oldest is 9 years old and smallest is few month old.  
Benefit from “Accompanying poor women” Fund in Tan An commune
(BGO) - Thanks to proper collection, classification and treatment of household waste, the women’s union of Tan An commune, Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province earns some tens of million VND (some 432 USD) annually to support poor women and children.
