Paris experts share experience in air quality management

French experts shared Paris’s experience in air quality management at a seminar in Hanoi on October 12.

The event was jointly held by the French Cultural Centre (L’Espace) and Live and Learn Centre, with the participation of Nha Nam Culture and Communications JSC.

Karine Leger, Director of Airparif that monitors Paris air quality, said the seminar offers an opportunity for speakers and participants to exchange experience in health protection, and discuss solutions that can be taken by individuals to ease air pollution.

According to Olivier Chretien, head of the Paris Department of Prevention of Environmental Impacts, Paris is the most populous city in Europe and one of ten most populous cities in the world, with 2.2 million people per 100 sq.km.

Paris residents have paid due attention to air quality, especially outdoor air quality, he said, introducing the city’s environment policy over the past two decades.
