Samsung Hope School fuels belief of poor children

(BGO) - Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province has decided to approve the project “Samsung Hope School” in Dinh Huong village, Thang town, Hiep Hoa district granted by Samsung Electronics Vietnam Company Limited (SEV) and Korean Food and Hungry International (KFHI). The people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district will act as owner of the aid package.

Samsung Hope School is a key programme among the corporate social responsibility activities of Samsung in Vietnam with the mission to spread the knowledge, share the vision and shape the future for Vietnamese young generation.

Samsung Hope School in Bac Giang is the 3rd Samsung hope schools in Vietnam preceded by those in Bac Ninh province in 2013 and Thai Nguyen in 2008.

The project will contribute to improving living and studying conditions of needy students in the district, thereby contributing to educational development of the locality especially primary and secondary education.

The project with total cost of nearly 20 billion VND (860,000 USD) includes 2 main components “facility building, equipment purchase, and management cost” worth more than 8 billion VND (342,500 USD) funded by SEV implemented within 6 months since the date of approval and “Child Development Programme (CDP)” worth 11.597.5 billion VND (nearly 517,500 USD) implemented in 10 years.

The component “facility building, equipment purchase, and management cost” will be directly managed by KFHI under lump sum turnkey method to upgrade the available 2-storey building into classrooms, build a new canteen, multi-functional house, dormitory, guard house, parking place and garden to serve teaching and learning needs.

For “Child Development Programme (CDP)”, the project will select 300 poor students from 6 to 16 years old to take part in the extracurricular activities for free including learning foreign languages, music, arts, computer, sports and nutrition programmes to improve students’ physical health.

Bac Giang supports 3,000 teachers and cooks at schools affected in Covid-19 pandemic
(BGO) – The leaders of the Department of Education and Training (DoET), the Educational Trade Union in Bac Giang province on April 21 visited and handed over the expense to support the teachers working at non-public schools, kindergarten groups and cooking staff affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Viet Yen district. 
 
Youth Union’s Secretary at Cam Ly High School Duong Van Thang honored with Ly Tu Trong award
(BGO) – After selection and judge, 82 out of more than 200 outstanding youth union officials and members nationwide were honored to receive Ly Tu Trong award in 2020. Duong Van Thang (born in 1985), Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) in Cam Ly High School (Luc Nam district) is the only one face in Bac Giang province to receive the award.
 
Youth members at provincial Military Command support Tan My Kindergarten School to prevent Covid-19 epidemic
(BGO) – The Youth Union at the Bac Giang provincial Military Command on March 17 organized a hike to support Tan My Kindergarten School in Covid-19 prevention and control in response to the Youth Month 2020 and celebrate 75 founding anniversary of the provincial armed force.

(BGO) – As soon as 57,000 students at high schools and regular educational centers in Bac Giang province returned to schools after one month absence, the educational establishements have applied several measure to stablize the routine, ensure the teaching quality and pay due attention to the final graders. 
 
Bac Giang strictly implements preventive measures when students return school
(BGO) - The Department of Education and Training (DOET) of Bac Giang province issued the correspondence No 207 on 1 March to allow junior high school students to stay home until the end of 8 March.
