Teachers of Yen Son primary school in Luc Nam district guide students to practice arts.

Recently, the conception of education has been changed when the schools and families pay attention to creating favourable conditions for children to show their abilities and strong suits.

Although it is located in a rural area, the school has classrooms for teaching arts and music and sports playground while establishing many clubs for all students pursuing their favourite subjects.

Thanks to the due attention, students are excited to take part in the studying and practicing emulation movements. Particularly for arts, 10 students of the school won prizes at the “your dream car” painting contest and 3 students won prizes at the painting contest themed “for the future environment” in early 2020.

Implementing the educational and training renovation guidelines, Viet Yen High School No 1 has encouraged the students to develop their creativity. The school library, laboratory and computer room are equipped with modern facilities, which are opened during the week days for the teachers and students to study and share knowledge.

Thanks to the guidance of their teachers, Le Ngoc Bao Minh and Nguyen Bao Trung, grade-12 students researched on the solution to apply nano materials in civil construction and industrial sector. This product won first prize at the provincial Science and Technology Contest for high school students in the academic year of 2019-2020.

Nurturing talents

According to Nguyen Van Them, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, there are 766 educational facilities from nursery to high school levels in the entire province. In response to the emulation movement “Innovation, creativity in teaching and learning”, most of the schools have sports playgrounds.

Hoang Cong Bo, Chairman of the people’s committee of Hiep Hoa district gives certificate of merit to the outstanding athletes in 2019.

Besides, primary students can take part in arts and music classes while secondary and high school students can study in the labs equipped with scientific instruments and devices for practicing.

The sports, arts, science and technology and creativity contests are jointly held annually which lure participation of the large number of students and encouragement of the teachers and students’ parents.

Particularly, the provincial Science and Technology Contest in 2019 and 2020 received 177 projects of more than 200 students. Many little talents were found from this playground such as Nguyen Minh Huyen, a student of Than Nhan Trung junior high school (Viet Yen district) who designed the product “facial recognition door key” and Chu Truong Cao, a student of Huong Lac junior high school (Lang Giang district) creating seeding machine to help farmers improve productivity.

However, the localities still lack of “playgrounds” for young talents. Besides, many students do not have time to take part in their favourite arts and sports activities due to study pressure.

Hence, many parents hope the educational sector will continue reducing academic stress while increasing time for practicing, experiencing and extracurricular activities with meaningful playgrounds for students to develop their talents.
