(BGO) – Though each person has his or her own work as a public security officer, retired staff or farmer..., the kind and sharing heart inspires her or him to conduct meaningful tasks to support the poor and needy people and contribute to the society and community. 

Recycle waste collection for everyone

For months, Nguyen Van Tung (born in 1988) who works at the Environment Police Division (Bac Giang provincial Public Security) has collected plastic bottle, carton box...to give Hoang Thi Nam, a disadvantage woman in Dai Son commune (Son Dong district) to sell for money. She now hired a room at Alley.211, Nguyen Van Cu street to take care of her husband and son who are relying on dialysis three times per week at the provincial General Hospital. The poor woman must bear the miserable family on her shoulder.

Tung tells every resident in his location of Dong Cua apartment, Le Loi ward to gather the recycle wastes then give Nam as well as calls for his friends and Facebook acquaintances to make some donations to her.

Currently, the store of Tung’s family at the first floor of the apartment becomes site where people gather the recycle wastes then Nam comes to pick them up and sell for money. Sometimes Tung helps Nam transport the wastes in case of big quantity or the donated source is far from his store.

“The support from every one, especially the encouragement and sharing from Tung and his wife helps me ease the hardness and difficulties,” Nam said in deep emotion.

Building free entertainment place for children

For half of year, since “Chinh’s park” in An Thong village, Thang town (Hiep Hoa district) comes in operation, many children have daily visited the site to enjoy free entertainment. The project was invested by family of Nguyen Duc Chinh (born in 1950).

The entertainment place of family of Nguyen Duc Chinh daily attracts many locals and children.

Chinh used to work in social field at the district. Three of his sons are successful in life and have worked in Japan for over 20 years, thus they want to make something to the homeland.

With total investment of over 100 million VND (4,300 USD), Chinh built the surrounding wall, planted trees and flowers, decorated the site, installed toy and entertainment equipment in his land of 250 square meters. There are slide, swing, seesaw, ferris wheel, wooden horse...for children as well as stone tables and chairs for adults to enjoy the fresh atmosphere when taking an eyes on their children.

Previously, Chinh’s family donated several sport practising equipment to the village public place as well as several charity and humanitarian work. They wished to build another entertainment place in the area when the Covid-19 pandemic is well controlled.

Various method to raise charity fund

After retiring in 2017, Dinh Thi Lanh (born in 1964) in Residential Area No 5, Tho Xuong ward (Bac Giang province) has spent a lot of time in social work. Acting as Head of the Women’s Division, she actively calls for the members and residents to join hands in charity activities.

Dinh Thi Lanh hands over the sponsor amount to two disadvantage students.

To have expense for operation, she placed the charity box at the cultural house of the residential area to call for donation from people on every meeting or salary receiving days. At the same time, she launches people to gather and classify the recycle waste to sell for fund raising while presenting old clothes and warm blanket to the poor.

Lanh and other members regularly visit and present gifts to the old at the provincial Center of Social Protection, the patients at several hospitals in the province, the impoverished cases or illness people in the residential area...The deep humanity and practical activities launched by Lanh are warmly welcomed by numerous people.

Typically, many people donate rice, food and manpower to cook porridge for poor patients at the local hospitals. Besides, the Women’s Division has sponsored two children living in difficult circumstance in the local area for years with the monthly allowance of 200,000 VND per person to share the difficulty with their family.

Bac Giang honors 125 exemplary models in humanitarian work
(BGO) – The Red Cross Society (RCS) in Bac Giang province on September 9 organized a meeting to honor the exemplary models in humanitarian work in the period 2015 – 2020.
