Programme honours outstanding ethnic teachers

A total of 63 outstanding ethnic minority teachers were honoured within a programme held in Hanoi on November 17.

The event, jointly held by the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Committee for Ethic Affairs, and Thien Long Group, was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC), and Head of PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong.

The programme aimed to honour ethnic minority teachers who have achieved excellent working performance and received high appreciation from parents, teachers and local people despite working in remote and disadvantaged areas.

From 82 nominees across the country, the organising board selected 63 teachers from 26 ethnic minority groups, including six individuals from ethic minority groups with very small populations.

During the programme, the honourees were each presented with a certificate of merit and a VND10 million saving book.

The Thien Long Group also donated VND100 million for the construction of a school house at Xuan Le Kindergarten in Thuong Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province.

Earlier the same day, the honoured teachers also received the ‘For the development cause of ethnic groups’ insignia at a meeting hosted by the Government’s Committee for Ethnic Affairs.

(BGO) – The leaders of the Department of Education and Training (DoET), the Educational Trade Union in Bac Giang province on April 21 visited and handed over the expense to support the teachers working at non-public schools, kindergarten groups and cooking staff affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Viet Yen district.

(BGO)- Teacher Vu Xuan Hoa, general leader of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization of Tien Dung primary school in Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province has rode his Honda 67 motorbike to every alley and street corner in the district to propagate the pandemic prevention and control for days.
