The VNG Corporation on July 16 launched the ‘Sai Gon Bao Dung’ (Magnanimous Sai Gon) project, a technology platform that helps charity groups in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country connect with needy people who are facing great difficulties due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The project was born in the context that non-essential shops and services in Ho Chi Minh CIty are closed due to Covid-19, causing many difficulties in relation to workers’ livelihoods.

Accordingly, the platform allows disadvantaged people to search for support locations in each district in the city in the most accurate and fastest way.
Through the platform, people can also make donations to the bank accounts or electronic wallet Zalo Pay of the groups registered to join the project’s relief activities as a way to lend a helping hand in the Covid-19 fight in Ho Chi Minh City.
The project has attracted more than 20 charity groups, funds and organisations from 10 districts in Ho Chi Minh city, many of them having provided thousands of free meals to people in quarantined areas, medical workers and doctors at field hospitals in the city
The project is expected to gather 60 social organisations in the coming time to expand their support network to needy people and maintain their charity community activities in the long term.
