(BGO)- Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) of Bac Giang province Le Anh Duong, Head of the provincial Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control (Steering Committee) on August 22 afternoon chaired a virtual meeting with the provincial departments, sectors and 10 districts and city on the pandemic fight.
According to the report by the Department of Health, 2 new epidemic outbreaks have been confirmed in Luc Ngan district and Bac Giang city since August 18 with 31 infections. 1,786 close contact cases (F1 cases) and 6,354 F2 cases have been reported. The province is paying high attention to investigating, tracing, quick testing, locating, isolating and containing the pandemic.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee requested workers not to return home and visit relatives during the National holiday of September 2, avoid big gathering and stay where they are for effective pandemic prevention.
In his conclusion, Le Anh Duong highly appreciated Luc Ngan district and Bac Giang city for their creative, flexible and quick responses to the arising situations for prompt and effective fight against the pandemic.
For the 2 pandemic outbreaks, he stressed the F1 and F2 cases must be closely supervised while the lockdown areas should be strictly managed. F1 and F2 cases and residents in the lockdown areas are tested every 3 days. F2 cases should be released if they meet the conditions for safety. The province is determined to completely contain these 2 outbreaks.
It is essential to prevent risks of epidemic infection to the province by advocacy methods to raise people’s awareness of not returning the province from affected areas. In case they must return home, they are required to contact the local government in advance for guidance on implementation of the regulations.

The districts and city need to work out plans to protect the “green” and safe areas with a focus on management of residence changes and strict control of outsiders to the localities. Checkpoints for the pandemic fights should be established near the highways and boundaries with other provinces.
He added, it is necessary to continue supervising and guiding people to implement “5K” message (Khau trang (facemask)- Khu khuan (disinfection)- Khoang cach (distance)- Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration) ).
Cases with cough and fever in the community must be promptly detected. Leaders of the localities, agencies and units shall bear responsibility if their employees and citizens are not timely provided health checks when they have cough and fever. The Department of Information and Communication is required to continue developing the software tracing and managing public servants, officials and students.
