An overview of the teleconference.

Concluding the event, Duong noted that in the past week, agencies and localities made great efforts to proactively and synchronously deploy many pandemic prevention and control measures. However, the epidemic in the province continued to develop complicatedly, with the number of cases increasing (more than 200 cases per day on average).

In order to control the epidemic situation well, for a safe Lunar New Year holiday, he noted that agencies, units and localities need to focus on controlling the pandemic in their areas, and thoroughly handle three outbreaks in the industrial zone, Tan Hiep commune and Thang township.

The health sector must speed up vaccination, especially for children, people with underlying diseases, and workers, while improving the classification, screening and home treatment of mild and asymptomatic patients.

He urged the steering committees for Covid-19 prevention and control at all levels to urgently develop anti-epidemic plans during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, prepare vehicles, chemicals and supplies, and assign forces to promptly handle arising situations.

Regarding measures to manage people from other provinces returning to their hometowns for Tet, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province's policy is not to ban people from going back to their hometowns, but localities need to manage and supervise them closely.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong speaks at the teleconference.

It is necessary to widely inform people living in other provinces that before going home, they must come to the health stations of communes, wards and townships to make a medical declaration (making a quick test if there is no negative test result) so that every family and every one feel secure to celebrate Tet.

The provincial leader also requested the Department of Health to re-evaluate the epidemic situation in the province recently, thereby serving as a database to propose the local authorities issue pandemic prevention and control plans for the new period.

From now until the Lunar New Year, departments, agencies and localities are required to focus on communications to avoid subjectiveness and negligence in the management and implementation of anti-epidemic measures. It is necessary to promote communications in all forms so that people have a sense of pandemic prevention, thus minimizing mass gatherings to avoid infection.
