Bac Giang applies flexible response measures when Covid-19 infections increase

(BGO) - The number of people infected with Covid-19 in Bac Giang province has continuously increased, making competent forces work overload and causing scarcity in medical supplies. Hoang Cong Bo, Chairman of the Hiep Hoa district People’s Committee, said that the number of F0s rapidly increased, mainly workers returning from other provinces and industrial zones in the province, as well as their children and grandchildren.

In response to the increase in Covid-19 cases in the community, the district People's Committee has established 5 groups to support home treatment of F0s in communes with a high number of patients. It has also directed communes and townships to strengthen communications and strictly manage cases who are workers returning from other provinces and industrial zones in the province. They must make daily health declarations at PC-Covid software and avoid mass gatherings.

In Bac Giang city, recently, new Covid-19 cases numbered more than 200 per day. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hong, Director of the city Health Center, said that over 100 medical staff and doctors in the city have been mobilised to manage and take care of 2,000 F0s at home. They work continuously day and night and are overloaded.

A medical worker in Yen Dung district instructs how to take care of F0s at home.

Regarding the fact that some businesses returning positive workers to their localities for testing, Nguyen Van Quy, deputy head of the provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, said that in order to manage the number of Covid-19 infections arising in enterprises, the unit has sent a written document requesting enterprises in industrial parks to immediately take response measures when detecting suspected Covid-19 infections such as taking them to a temporary quarantine area arranged by the enterprise, and actively coordinating with the medical centres of industrial parks to make a list and notify the health centers of relevant districts and cities to receive and manage F0s.

In case the F0 found is a worker from other province, the enterprise must take him/her to the treatment facility at CT3 building of Fuji Development Joint Stock Company in Noi Hoang commune (Yen Dung district) for treatment. Workers in the province who are infected with Covid-19 are instructed to go home by personal vehicles or others arranged by businesses for home quarantine, but must comply with the 5K regulations.

Following the direction of the provincial People's Committee and the Department of Health, the provincial Association of Young Doctors has established a network of "Young Physicians" groups to provide free consultation and support for F0s who are treated at home in 10 districts and city. These groups are responsible for giving consultations and guidance on how to take care of health and treat the disease, partly reducing the load on grassroots-level health care, thus helping people feel more secure.

Tu Quoc Hieu, Director of the Department of Health, said that the department has increased human resources and provided professional support for communal health stations/mobile medical stations. It has set up working groups to work with the People's Committees of districts and city to capture the management and treatment of F0s at home in order to further improve the quality of providing counseling, support, care and treatment for people with Covid-19 at home according to the right regimen; and take prompt response measures when F0s’ health condition gets worse.

The sector has also prepared human resources and conditions to deploy vaccination for children aged 5 to 11 under the direction of the Ministry of Health.
