Bac Giang accelerates Covid-19 vaccination

(BGO) – The Department of Health in Bac Giang province has allocated 39,000 Moderna vaccine doses to vaccinate local people against Covid-19.

6,000 doses are for Tan Yen district, 5,000 doses for each district of Hiep Hoa and Viet Yen, 4,000 doses for each locality of Luc Nam, Yen Dung, Son Dong and Bac Giang city, 3,000 doses for Luc Ngan district, 2,000 doses for each district of Lang Giang and Yen The.

The medical staff at Hong Thai commune Medical Station in Viet Yen district injects Covid-19 vaccine to Ta Thi Tich (97 years old) at home in Hung Lam No.2 village.

The vaccine should be injected before March 31. The Department of Health directed localities to urgently mobilize man power to administer the first and second shots to citizens over 12 as well as third shot to people over 18.

To fulfil the set target, the Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in the districts and city ordered the communes, wards and towns to assign staff to visit each household, review each case, communicate and persuade people to join the vaccination campaign.

Besides, urgent vaccination must be done at home for disadvantaged people, the elderly and cases with underlying disease who encounter travel difficulties.

On March 7, the province administered 4,246 vaccine doses. In accumulation, over four million doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been injected to 99.9 percent (at least two shots), 92.3 percent (third shot) of adult population as well as 99 percent of children aged from 12 to under 18 (one and two shots) in the province.
