National outstanding young doctor Dang Van Hoa creative for public health

(BGO) - With positive contributions to the care and protection of people's health, application of science and technology, and volunteering for public health, Dr. Dang Van Hoa (born in 1982), head of the Quality Management Department under the provincial General Hospital and Chairman of the Bac Giang Young Physicians Association was named one of 10 outstanding young doctors nationwide in 2021.

Efforts to connect and accompany F0s

The past weeks have been identified as the peak time of the Covid-19 epidemic as the number of infections increased, most of them were treated at home. Busy with professional work at the hospital, doctor Dang Van Hoa still coordinated the activities of teams offering home treatment consultations to F0s and directly provided advice to patients.

Doctor Hoa said that when the number of cases treated at home increased day by day, providing remote consultations for patients was very necessary. Facing that situation, in early 2022, Hoa encouraged members of the Bac Giang Young Physicians Association to set up consulting groups via Zalo to provide people with knowledge of epidemic prevention and control and treatment at home. Based on the activities of the consulting groups, the provincial Department of Health established a network of "Young Doctors Accompanying F0s" with more than 200 doctors, nurses and volunteers from the provincial Young Physicians Association.

In the days when the number of cases rose rapidly while the Zalo groups limited the number of members, Dr. Hoa proactively gave ideas and directed the establishment of more commune-level counseling clusters, each consisting of 4-5 communes and townships, while opening a Facebook page offering consultations to different patient groups to update information…

In mid-2021, not afraid of hardships and dangers, Hoa was ready to "share the fire" with his colleagues to fight the epidemic in industrial parks. After completing the task of epidemic prevention and control in the province, he left for the south with 80 other doctors and nurses to support Long An province.

Improving the quality of treatment

As head of the Quality Management Department, Dr. Hoa has given advice and implemented many activities to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. Up to now, five grassroots-level scientific research projects developed by him and his colleagues have been applied at the provincial General Hospital, bringing billions of dong to the hospital each year.

With the motto “all for the benefit and health of patients”, to improve the quality of services at the unit, Dr. Hoa boldly proposed the hospital's leaders send doctors to learn new treatment methods to deploy at the hospital, thereby contributing to reducing the load on central level hospitals, improving the treatment capacity of provincial-level ones, and helping people save costs.

In the association’s work, Dr. Hoa always takes the initiative in connecting and attracting a team of young doctors and nurses to make the association stronger and stronger. In addition to admitting members at public health facilities, the provincial Young Physicians Association has established many affiliated clubs in private hospitals such as Son Uyen General Hospital (Hiep Hoa), Bac Thang Long private general hospital (Luc Ngan), and Anh Quat private general hospital (Tan Yen).

In order to improve the effectiveness of the association's activities, he advised and coordinated with the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations to organize training courses on transferring new technologies applied in medicine, digital transformation and information technology application for members.

Specialist II Vu Thanh Giang, Deputy Director of the provincial General Hospital, said that Doctor Dang Van Hoa is good at professional knowledge, responsible in work, dedicated and enthusiastic to patients. In any position, the doctor has also fulfilled the assigned tasks and had many studies and initiatives to serve the medical examination and treatment. He has actively organized volunteer activities and is a shining example in the health sector for young doctors and medical staff to follow.

Recognizing that dedication, Doctor Dang Van Hoa was repeatedly rewarded by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Physicians Association....
