Over 20,000 USD donated to Fund for the Poor

(BGO) – Responding to Action month for the Poor from October 17 to November 18, 2022, as of October 25, the Standing Board of the Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) in Bac Giang province received nearly 500 million VND (over 20,000 USD) from various sponsors to the provicial Fund for the Poor.

Some big donors were provincial Military Command (100 million VND), Office of the provincial People’s Committee (15.5 million VND) among others.

The Fund will be used to build and repair “Great Unity House”, present Tet gift and production supplies, deliver emegency aid and hand over scholarship to impoverished cases, orphan, poor and near poor families in the province.

The Fatherland Front Committee in Luc Nam district supports to build Great Unity House for the poor.

With the spirit “Joining hands for the poor – leaving no one behind”, the provincial FFC continues calling for donation from organizations and individuals to assist the poor overcome the challenge in life.

Any donation should be sent to office of FFC at the third floor, Building B at provincial Inter-Organization Headquater at February 3 Square in Bac Giang city or transfer to FFC’s bank account 3761.0.1062613. 91046 at the State Treasury of Bac Giang province.

Since early this year, the Fund for the Poor in Bac Giang city has donated 280 million VND to revamp 7 houses for the poor, near poor and disadvantaged families. Besides, the local agencies donated many work days. The agencies have accelerated the construction progress to complete 7 more “Great Unity Houses” before November 18.

Nearly 6.4 million poor households provided with social policy loans

Nearly 6.4 million poor and near-poor households had access to loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) as of December 31, 2021.
