Bac Giang honors 45 outstanding ethnic individuals

(BGO) – On October 25, the Ethnic Board in Bac Giang province held a ceremony to honor the outstanding invididuals in ethnic minority groups and mountainous areas in 2022 with Chairman of provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Le Anh Duong in attendance.

Bac Giang has 45 ethnic minority groups with over 257,000 people (accounting for 14.26 percent of total population), 6 of whom have big population and live in community, including Nung, Tay, San Diu, Hoa, Dao and San Chay (consisting of Cao Lan and San Chi). They mostly live in the districts of Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Luc Nam and Yen The.

Speaking at the event, PPC Chairman praised the achievement of the outstanding models and pressed on further attention, leadership and direction to all enthnic tasks and socio-economic development in such areas.

An outstanding model shares experiences in emulative movement.

He urged all levels of the party, authority, Fatherland Front Committee and agencies to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State about the ethnic task, policy and national great unity.

More attention should be paid to realizing programme and investment policies to the ethnic minority groups and mountainous areas, especially National Target Programme about developing the socio-economy in ethnic minority groups and mountainous areas in 2021 – 2030 period.

Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong and leader of provincial Ethnic Board hand over Certificate of Merit to 10 outstanding models.

On the occasion, 10 ethnic peoples were honored with Certificate of merit by PPC Chairman for their excellent achievement in patriotic emulative movements in 2022 while 35 others were awarded Certificate of merit by Head of the provincial Ethnic Board.

Besides, 11 students with outstanding academic results were gifted by the provincial Study Encouragement Association.

(BGO) – According to the Board of Ethnic in Bac Giang province, from the capital source of National Target Programme for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the provincial People’s Committee plans to mobilize nearly 313 billion VND (13.4 million USD) to renovate activities and reinforce the boarding ethnic high schools, high schools with boarding students and educational facilities for people living at ethnic minority areas from now on till 2025.

The traditional ‘Khai ha’ festival and ‘Doi’ calendar of the Muong ethnic people in Hoa Binh province, have been named a national intangible cultural heritage, according to a recent decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Nong Thuy Hang, a 23-year-old ethnic girl from Ha Giang Province excellently overcame the 29 contestants to be crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City on July 16.
 
Preserving Sinh ca melodies of Cao Lan ethnic people
(BGO) - In order to preserve and promote the folk music of Cao Lan ethnic group (Sinh ca) in Bac Giang province, in April 2020, a group of teachers from the provincial Intermediate School of Culture, Sports and Tourism implemented the project "Researching and conserving the folk music of the Cao Lan ethnic group, contributing to the development of community-based tourism".
