(BGO) – In the last months of this year, all levels of trade union in Bac Giang province have paid special attention to supervising the job and income of labours so as to timely detect and prevent any strike arising from conflict in labour relationship.
Sharp decrease of strike
With 187 grassroots trade unions mostly in the business with more than 134,200 members (biggest in the province), the Trade Union in the provincial Industrial Park always defines harmonious and stable labour relationship as the key task.

Since 2016, 36 strikes have occurred in the provincial Industrial Park at diffirent companies. The reason analysis proved that such labour conflict could be solved if they were early dectected.
According to Chairman of the Trade Union in the provincial Industrial Park Ngo Duc Thang, the Trade Union assigned official in charge of each area and created a network of nearly 300 collaborators to gather public opinion.
At the monthly regular meeting, these members update and reflect the opinions about the life and thought of labours, hence the higher level trade union can discuss and cooperate with competent agencies to have suitable settlement to stabilize the situation.
Tan Yen district only has 35 of of 500 businesses with trade union so there are a lot of difficulties to protect the right and benefit for labours. The district Labour Federation actively suggested to ink cooperation programme with the district Division of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and Social Insurance Division in each period.
Basing on specific condition, the trade union and agencies will inspect and supervise the implementation of legal regulation about labour at the business, focusing on big employers with strike.
“Basing on the inspection result, the district Labour Federation directs the official at the grassroots trade union to urge business on recovery while holding regular and emergent talkshow to the employers and employees in order to detect and handle the conflict timely,” Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Chairman of district Labour Federation said.
Creating belief for labour
The province now has more than 1,800 grassroots trade unions with more than 257,000 members, 651 of which are in companies with over 206,800 participants. Since 2020, only 6 strikes have occurred in the foreign direct investment enterprises, down 12 events comparing to three years ago.
The positive signal not only affirmed the improved role and effective operation of trade union but also businesses’ responsibility to ensure better welfare for labours, making them accompany the firm to overcome the difficult period toward development.

Chairman of Trade Union at Luxshare – ICT Company Limited in Van Trung industrial park (Viet Yen district) Bui Van Truong shared that two day strike occurred in September 2020 after one year operation. It caused severe financial loss due to production suspension. To stabilize the labour relationship, the company trade union supervises the implementation of labour legal regulation; negotiate and ink the collective labour agreement; helds regular talk inside the business.
To timely grasp the situation and prevent conflict, the Executive Board of the Trade Union at Yamashita Vietnam Company Limited (Yen Dung district) established 10 “core worker groups” corresponding to each production session. The members are active persons with full enthusiasm and responsibility who popularize the legal policies to help labours stabilize the thought and work comfortbly.
To stabilize labour relationship and restrict collective strike, the most important task is to create firm belief to the labour. Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial Labour Confederation Nguyen Van Bac said apart from seriously following legal regulation, the enterprise should pay due attention to improving the working condition, more policies to care for the labours. At that time, the labour will attach to the enterprise, accompany and share the difficulties with the employers.
Promoting the role, all levels of trade union must supervise and cooperate with competent agencies to timely inspect and detect violation then expedite recovery and recommend suitable settlement to protect the labour rights.
