(BGO)- A delegation of the Federation of Trade Unions of Daegu city (Republic of Korea) led by Kim Wi Sang, Chairman of the Federation on December 7 paid a working visit to the provincial Confederation of Labour in northern province of Bac Giang.
At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial Confederation of Labour of Bac Giang province Nguyen Van Canh briefed the guests on socio-economic situation of the province. Accordingly, the province’s economic growth rate in 2022 ranked 2nd nationwide. He stressed, Korea is the leading nation in terms of the number of investment projects in the province with 321 projects and the 2nd biggest in terms of the registered investment with nearly 1.4 billion USD.

Korean enterprises contribute about 25 percent to the total industrial production value of the FDI bloc in the entire province. 157 Korean enterprises have trade unions with nearly 63,000 members. About 1,200 Korean experts, managers and workers are working in Bac Giang province.
Regarding trade union organization, the province has more than 1,800 grassroots trade unions with over 270,000 participants. Promoting their roles as the representatives to care and protect legitimate rights of the members and labourers, trade unions at all levels in Bac Giang province have organized many activities to care for living of the workers.
Chairman of the provincial Confederation of Labour of Bac Giang province highly appreciated the working visit of the delegation and expected to share experience with the Federation of Trade Unions of Daegu city, thereby strengthening mutual understanding and tightening the friendship between the two agencies and the two countries as well.

Kim Wi Sang congratulated the results gained by trade unions at all levels of Bac Giang province in recent years, which have contributed to improving workers’ quality of life.
He informed trade union has been facilitated in Republic of Korea and guaranteed many rights and benefits. Thus, he hoped that after this visit, both agencies would tighten cooperation and make more efforts to build harmonious and advanced labour relations in businesses to better protection and care for labourers.
