And now, a dreamlike bridge is being urgently built, connecting the two regions. In the last days of the lunar year 2022, hundreds of workers still worked hard in the cold weather for the early completion of the bridge.
This is the first cable-stayed bridge at the provincial level in the country built with a total investment of nearly 1.5 trillion VND (63.9 million USD). The bridge has a length of nearly 1km and a surface width of more than 20m, promising to be not only a landscape highlight in the two sacred regions but also an important link in economic development. It will serve as a lifeline on the road transporting goods from Bac Ninh and Bac Giang with large industrial areas to the seaports of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city.
"The district is also actively expanding roads connecting National Highway 1A and provincial road 293 to create a modern transport infrastructure system to meet future transportation needs," said Nguyen Van Thuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Dung district.
Hiep Hoa also sees the construction of transport infrastructure works connecting to localities with great potential in economic development, especially in attracting investment in industrial development, such as Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Hanoi. Two major projects in the district are Ha Bac 2 road and bridge linking with National Highway 18 and Yen Phong Industrial Park (Bac Ninh); and the road and a bridge connecting Hiep Hoa district with Pho Yen city of Thai Nguyen. The Ha Bac bridge project has a total investment of nearly 360 billion VND while the other 540 billion VND. The two projects are being accelerated.
The Ha Bac 2 road and bridge project is expected to unleash the industrial economic zone of Bac Ninh province, while the road and bridge project from National Highway 37 to Hoa Son bridge will facilitate the connection with the industrial capital of Thai Nguyen province. Once the projects are completed, they will create a great advantage for Hiep Hoa district’s economic development.
Hoang Cong Bo, Chairman of the Hiep Hoa district People's Committee said: "The province and district’s investment in developing connectivity transport is "refueling" for the development of industry, trade, services and agriculture of the district; as well as spreading the cultural, social and historical values of the special national relic sites, especially Hiep Hoa Safe Zone II".

In other districts, there are also projects underway or about to be implemented, including the 456 billion VND (19.45 million USD) Nhu Nguyet bridge project in Viet Yen district, a project connecting National Highway 37 and National Highway 17 to Vo Nhai district of Thai Nguyen with a total investment of more than 1.45 trillion VND (61.8 million USD) in Tan Yen and Yen The district, the Cam Ly bridge project in Luc Nam, and the roads connecting Tay Yen Tu township with Quang Ninh province in the highlands district of Son Dong.
With the current transport infrastructure picture, it can be seen that Bac Giang is forming a new space with a system of new roads and bridges connected scientifically, conveniently, synchronously and modernly. That is thanks to the province's vision and special priority in allocating investment capital for transport development.
Tran Xuan Dong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Transport, said that the province has never allocated the largest ever capital amount for transport development as at present. In the past two years alone, the province invested nearly 2 trillion VND (85.31 million USD) each year in transport infrastructure, equal to the figure of the whole previous term. That vision and priority, along with a methodical investment strategy covering all regions across the province, will be the prerequisites for promoting the province’s investment attraction and socio-economic development.
