Bui Xuan Huy was fed with noodles after he was found down a cliff near Sung Co Beach, Da Nang, January 29, 2023.

Huy tried to climb out of the hole himself but failed. His food slowly ran out, but he eventually managed to catch enough cellphone service and made a call for help to his family Saturday night.

Huy said he was severely injured and couldn't move by himself, and that he was located several kilometers away from Hai Van Pass, at a location with rough terrains.

The police then dispatched vehicles and 10 police officers to Hai Van Pass, looking for a way to approach the Sung Co Beach and search for Huy.

At around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, the police found a motorbike left by Huy on a road that was located about 5.5 km away from the Pass's main road.

At 3 a.m., the police discovered Huy being trapped at a coastal cliff located about 200 m to the east of Sung Co Beach. Huy had multiple injuries and was delirious at the time he was found. He was given first-aid, food and taken to the hospital.

The Sung Co Beach, located at the foot of the Hai Van Pass, is an isolated beach with rough terrains, and so is a popular destination for certain travelers looking for thrills.
