Red Spring Festival 2023 receives 8,580 blood units in Bac Giang

(BGO) – Concluding the Red Spring Festival 2023 (launching from January 8), the Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation (VBD) in Bac Giang province cooperated with the Red Cross Society at all levels, schools and businesses to organize 12 blood donation festivals.

Nearly 6,500 people were qualified to donate 8,580 safe blood units, exceeding 114 percent of the set target and accounting for 52 percent of the yearly plan. The blood units were delivered to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to serve the blood reserve, emegency and patient treatment.

Some localities and organizations had high results, typically Viet Yen district (2,089 units), Luc Nam district (1,603 units), Fuyu Precision Component Company Limited in Quang Chau industrial park (680 units)…

Besides, the Steering Committee joined hands with localities and agencies to hang nearly 500 banners of all kinds and deliver over 12,000 leaflets about the VBD campaign to enhance the people’s awareness.

The Red Spring Festival is a campaign to call on people to donate the blood and recover the blood shortage during lunar New Year holiday. The eight event of its kind was launched in Bac Giang province themed “Donating blood in spring – Multiplying happiness”.

The National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusions (NIHBT) held a programme in Hanoi on December 15 to honour 17 collectives and 9 individuals, who have made significant contributions to the blood donation drive.

 

Red Sunday 2023 blood donation campaign aims to collect 50,000 units of blood

The Chu Nhat Do 2023 (Red Sunday) blood donation campaign is expected to collect 45,000-50,000 units of blood to help alleviate the shortage of blood for emergency and treatment periods during and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
