This is an event in a series of nationwide propaganda activities to develop personal digital signatures, to reach the goal of 10 million subscribers by 2023.

A digital signature has the same role as an individual's handwritten signature or a seal of an agency or enterprise and will be legally recognized by law when conducting transactions in the electronic environment.

On weekends from now until the end of December 2023, residents of the capital and visitors to the pedestrian street in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, will be introduced to digital signatures and using digital signatures when participating in public services and electronic transactions.

In mid-April 2023, the Hanoi People's Committee will deploy a new public service system, with the implementation of completely electronic public services. Accordingly, citizens can digitally sign declarations on the public service system at home or anywhere, instead of having to directly sign papers and submit documents as at present.

State agencies will also perform electronic results in parallel with paper results.
