Bac Giang enhances labour quality for business

(BGO) – Resolution No.147 –NQ/TU issued on July 15, 2021 by the Executive Board of the Party Committee in Bac Giang province about developing the industry in 2021 – 2030 period specified that by 2030 Bac Giang province strives to be key locality with modern and sustainable industry and industrial center of the region. 

To realize this target, the province has focused on implementing synchronous solutions, especially paying special attention to training and improving the quality of the human resources to supply to the business.

Annually, basing on the assigned criteria, Vietnam – Korean Vocational College of Technology (VK-Tech) in Bac Giang city surveys the business’s employment demand then enrolls trainees for specific careers so as to ensure occupational opportunities for the post graduates who meet the enterprises’ requirement.

VK –Tech now linkes to more than 100 companies in and outside the province to train various careers like industrial electricity, industrial electronic, information technology, automation industry among others. Every year, the college trains and supplies about 700 – 800 skilled labours to foreign direct investment enterprises at local industrial parks.

The Administrative staff at Seojin Vietnam Company Limited Tran Van Nam said VK-Tech has recently linked to his company to train and introduce 60 labours per year. They are mechanician with college degree who meet the job requirement.

Similarly, the Industrial Technical College (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) annually trains about 2,500 labours at college and vocational degree as the inked contract with several businesses.

The statistic from the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) proved that the province now has 51 vocational training facilities, 35 of which are located in the province and the remaining are representative offices of the establishments from other provinces with training linkage.

Last year, these facilities trained 28,700 labours, including 1,650 at college degree, 4,634 at vocational school degree and remaining at regular and primary training system. Over 90 percent of post graduates from college and vocational school were employed while more than 80 percent of trainees at regular and primary training system found suitable jobs.

Bac Giang ranks in top leading localities in foreign direct investment attraction nationwide with more industrial and service ratio in annually economic structure switch. Implementing the provincial direction to accelerate industrial development including vocational training, the DoLISA has actively planned and linked vocational training to the market demand. This year, the vocational training facilities planed to enroll and train 29,000 labours.

Director of DoLISA Nguyen Tien Coi said, the vocational training was defined as one of key tasks in 2021 – 2025 period. The province arranged about 7 billion VND (300,900 USD) from local budget to support facilities to train more than 6,000 labours.

As schedule, total support expense per Resolution 61 is estimated to increase over 10 billion VND, helping gradually enhance the quality of human resources and meet employment requirement for enterprises in the industrial parks and clusters.

By 2030, the province strives to have over 90 percent of labours trained in industrial field, more than 40 percent of whom have certificate and qualification. The average labor productivity rate in the period 2021-2030 will reach about 11% per year.

To fulfil this goal, the province has further directed relevant sectors to implement policies which support vocational training by central and provincial budget.

Particularly, Bac Giang annually mobilizes public investment capital to construct and upgrade the facility of the vocational training establishment to enhance the training quality.

This year, the province allocated over 120 billion VND from the public investment capital to upgrade the facilities at VK-Tech, some high schools, vocational training and regular educational centers in Hiep Hoa and Yen The districts.

VK Tech receives project to aid training equipment
(BGO) – The Vietnam – Korean Vocational College of Technology (VK Tech) on January 13 received project sponsored by Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam to continue supporting the investment project of teaching facilities and equipment at the college since 2013.
