(BGO)- On May 13, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization (YPO) celebrated the 82nd founding anniversary of the YPO (15 May 1941- 15 May 2023) and presented Kim Dong award in the 2022-2023 academic year in Hanoi capital. Bac Giang has 2 students honored at this event.
They are Dam Phuong Thao, a student of class 9A, An Chau secondary school in Son Dong district and Nguyen Son Long, a student of class 7A3, Than Nhan Trung secondary school in Viet Yen district, who are excellent commanders of the YPO with outstanding study results.

Dam Phuong Thao has been awarded excellent student title for 9 consecutive years. She is best at mathematics. Besides, she loves chess, in which she won first and second prizes at some district-level chess competitions.
In academic year 2022-2023, Thao won first prize at the district-level science and technology contest for secondary students and consolation prize at the provincial-level contest with the project “cleaning machine of household water pipes”.
Nguyen Son Long has made ceaseless efforts to fulfill the study assignments. He has loved English since he was a small child. His family has encouraged him to try himself at many English speaking contests. In this academic year, Long won gold medal at ASMO English Language Competition and English Debate Competition hosted by American Ivy Global School and first prize at the provincial English Olympic Contest on the Internet (IOE).

Besides, Son Long bagged first prize at the 2021 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and second prize at the Excellent YPO Commanders of Bac Giang province in 2022.
122 outstanding children were awarded Kim Dong Prize in the academic year 2022-2023 nationwide. This award is given by the YPO Central Committee to encourage YPO members, YPO commanders and YPO groups who gained excellent achievements in YPO activities and children movements.
