“Golden” wushu artist Nguyen Thi Lan

(BGO)- The young wushu artist Nguyen Thi Lan (born in 2004) is from in Binh Duong village, Ngoc Son commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province. 

Her family faces a lot of difficulties when her parents often suffer from sickness. Lan is the youngest in her 4-children family. She has been eager to learn martial art to improve her health since her childhood. When she was at grade 4 at Ngoc Son primary school, her teachers recognized her talent and introduce her to Hanoi High School for Sports Talented Students.

Nguyen Thi Lan wins gold medal at 2019 Asian Junior Wushu Championship in Brunei.

Although this child was only 10 leaving her family to study in the capital city, Lan quickly got familiar to the new environment. She is exempt from living and study expenses at this school.

She practices hard at wushu while fulfilling the general curriculum at school. Thanks to her rigorous practice, she was selected in Hanoi’s Wushu team. With her ceaseless efforts during 3 years, Lan has gained many high prizes particularly gold medal at the 2017 National Youth Wushu Championship and gold medal at the 2018 National Wushu Championship. This year, the young girl continued winning silver medal at the National Youth Wushu Championship and gold medal at the National Wushu Championship.

For a martial artist, has she overcome a lot of difficulties and hard training to gain miracle moments in the arena and great happiness as receiving a medal.

“The muscle exercises are really hard for freshers. After the first lessons, my body got terrible hurt that I couldn’t eat and sleep. Somebody gave up but I kept going for my passion”, said Lan.

Lan sticks to her practising everyday. The more she practise, the bigger passion she has for this sport and she decided to stay longer with it.

This young girl from Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province showed great performance and won a gold medal among 5 gold medals of Vietnam team at the 2019 Asian Junior Wushu Championship in Brunei this August. Currently, she is provided private training to participate the international arena.
