Bac Giang upgrades and repairs provincial sports competition hall ahead SEA Games 31

(BGO) - The provincial Sports Competition Hall (in the Southern urban area, Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province) will be the competition place for badminton event at SEA Games 31. However, it was used as field hospital No.2 for long period to treat Covid-19 patients so several items were degraded and damaged.

The provincial Center of Sports Training and Competition has cooperated with relevant agencies to check then upgrade and repair all items and equipment which are scheduled to be completed in March 2022.

Saola, the mascot of SEA Games 31 is placed in front of the provincial Sports Competition Hall.

Moreover, the provincial Sports Competition Hall is equipped with 20 lighting poles and competition carpets in line with international standard, bases of flag poles while erecting Saola - mascot of SEA Games 31 in front of the Competition Hall and designing a starting up building to serve athletes before competition.

The provincial Sports Competition Hall can provide 4,500 seats. The badminton event of the upcoming SEA Games will take place from May 16 - 22 with the participation from 127 athletes of 8 countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Lao, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.

SEA Games 31 opens on May 12 at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.
