Bac Giang wins three medals at 2022 National Chess Championship

(BGO) – The Organization Board of the 2022 National Chess Championship on March 5 held awarding ceremony at the Bac Giang provincial Conventional Hall. Bac Giang delegation excellently bagged two gold and one bronze medals.

The Crown Trophy and six sets of medals (six golds, six silvers and 12 bronzes)were awarded to outstanding players at three competition events for male and female, including standard chess, rapid chess and blitz chess.

The Organization Board awards Crown Trophy to grandmaster Vo Thi Kim Phung and medals to excellent female players at standard chess event.

Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and Pham Le Thao Nguyen of Can Tho delegation won two golds at rapid chess. Hanoi delegation bagged two gold medals at blitz chess (player Tran Dang Minh Quang) and standard chess (Tran Tuan Minh).

Bac Giang delegation won two golds at blitz chess (Nguyen Thi Mai Hung) and standard chess (Vo Thi Kim Phung). Moreover, Phung pocketed a bronze at rapid chess.

The Organization Board awards awards Crown Trophy and medals to outstanding male players at rapid chess event.

The tourney was co-organized by Vietnam Chess Federation, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism from February 23 to March 5, drawing more than 100 grandmasters from 18 provincies, cities and sectors nationwide.

Basing on this tourney result, the Vietnam Sports Administration and Vietnam Chess Federation will select grandmasters for national team to compete at international events in 2022 – 2023 as well as upcoming 31st SEA Games in May.
