Efforts exerted to successfully organise SEA Games 31

The second Chefs de Mission Meeting of the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games was held in Hanoi on March 18, in which heads of Southeast Asian sports delegations agreed on many important issues.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee and head of the 31st SEA Games organising committee, said the solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and flexible response to challenges are the characteristics of Southeast Asia during the development process.

Despite many challenges, thanks to the solidarity of Southeast Asian countries and efforts by the Vietnamese Government and people, Vietnam has the Covid-19 pandemic under control and made preparations for the 31st SEA Games, with safety measures taken, on schedule, he added.

At the meeting, Subcommittees of the 31st SEA Games Organising Committee updated the delegates on the preparation for the Games, as well as providing the latest information on the competition venue, programme, and competition content, as well as preparation for accommodation, transportation, logistics, security, reception, health and doping testing, entry and exit procedures, to the participating countries' sports delegations.

As part of the meeting, the delegates will visit some competition venues and accommodation facilities for the Games.

Efforts to organise SEA Games 31 safely and carefully
There are two months left until the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) taking place in Vietnam. Amidst the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic, the successful organisation of the games and assurance of health for the delegations’ members and service forces for the host, is imperative.
 
Volunteers trainned for SEA Games 31
(BGO) – On March 3, the (SEA Games) launched training course to 85 volunteers for badminton event at the sports competition hall in Bac Giang province.
 
SEA Games 31: No quarantine planned for int’l sport delegations, reporters
International sport delegations and reporters attending the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) will not be quarantined even if Covid-19 cases are found, the organising committee’s healthcare and anti-doping sub-committee said at a press conference on February 28.                                                                         
 
Official motto for SEA Games 31
“For a Stronger South East Asia” has been chosen as the official motto of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) and the 11th ASEAN Para Games (ASEAN Para Games 11), with the international events set to be hosted by the nation this year.
 
300 volunteers needed to serve badminton competition event at SEA Games 31
(BGO) – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DoFA) has issued plan to select and train volunteers to serve badminton competition event at SEA Games 31 in Bac Giang province.
