(BGO) – It is about 40 days to go before the 31st Southeastern Asian Games (SEA Games) opens in Hanoi capital. Later on, outstanding athletes from ASEAN countries will compete at many sports in several provinces, cities including the northern province of Bac Giang.
SEA Games is not only the biggest sports festival in the region but also crucial political, diplomatic, cultural and economic event, especially opportunity to widely promote the potentials and advantages of economy, cultural tradition as well as tourism.

It is the honor for Bac Giang province to be host of badminton event. The province has urgently prepared all necessary condition in term of facilities and man power to thoroughly serve the important sports event.
So far, many items in the provincial Sports Competition Hall have been upgraded, repaired and replaced. All tools and devices severing badminton competition are equipped in line with international standard.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has cooperated with several departments and sectors to select volunteers and provide them with sufficient training courses to be friendly and responsible assistants, guiders and volunteers.
The communication task has been well conducted by Bac Giang Newspaper, Bac Giang Radio and Television Station and relevant agencies under diverse form.
At the same time, the Bac Giang municipal People’s Committee, the provincial Management Board for agriculture and traffic investment and construction projects have highly directed to construct and complete some routes, beautified the landscapes, lighting systems, trees and kept the environment clean.
All programmes are promptly completed to ensure the public security, traffic safety, disease prevention and control, food hygiene and safety, information supply – connection and power supply among others.
The province expects to welcome eight countries to compete at badminton event at the 31st SEA Games, including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Lao, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam with about 300 members.
Besides, many foreign visitors and sports lovers will come to Bac Giang on this occasion to experience and cheer up the athletes. Particularly, Bac Giang people have chance to witness the competition of native players as well as members of Vietnam National Badminton Team.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son cum Head of the Organization Board for badminton event at the 31st SEA Games in Bac Giang always pressed that organizing badminton event is a good chance for Bac Giang province to promote local image to domestic and foreign friends while affirming the capability to organize international event in the province.
Thus, all relevant organizations and agencies must actively review the tasks and assign to specific people so as to thoroughly prepare for the biggest sports festival.
