In recent training sessions, Hai played as a right-winger, the same position he plays for the national team. He faces competition from David Gomis, a Guinea-Bissau player who scored four goals and assisted twice in 32 games last season.

The game will not be broadcast live since Pau want to keep their tactics secret.

After this game, Pau will continue their pre-season tour of France, playing Ligue 1 club Toulouse on July 12 and lower-tier clubs Angoulême Charente and Chamois Niortais on the 15th and 23rd.

They start the league season on July 30 with a game against EA Guingamp.

Hai has signed a two-year contract, becoming the first Vietnamese player to play in a professional football league in France.
