Bac Giang athletes win gold at HongKong Shuttlecock Open

(BGO) - The third Hong Kong Shuttlecock Open wrapped up on July 31 in Hong Kong (China). Vietnam Shuttlecock team won 4 gold and 3 silver medals with great participation from Bac Giang athletes.

The event took place from July 27 – 31, attracting more than 200 players from 17 teams to participate in various events, including men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

Vietnam team with 12 players was led by Truong Quang Hai, Director of Bac Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, six of whom are Bac Giang native.

The Vietnamese shuttlecock team won 4 gold medals and 3 silvers. Specifically, Ha Nhu Hung claimed the gold medal in the men's singles event, Luu Hoang Thanh Ngan won the gold medal in the women's singles event, and the Vietnamese men's doubles team (Manh Tu/Viet Tiep/Hong Hiep/Thanh Cuong/Hieu Thuan/Nhu Hung) secured the gold medal. The silver medals were bagged at women’s team, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.

The achievement was greatly contributed by Bac Giang players such as Manh Tu, Viet Tiep, Hong Tiep and Thu Ngan. The result helped Vietnam Shuttlecock team rank first overall place.
