Speaking at the launch of the academy on August 30, Park said “When coaching the Vietnamese team, my mission and plan was to develop Vietnamese football. I have always made efforts to respond to the love of Vietnamese fans for me and I think this is an appropriate time.”

The former Vietnam coach said he expects the football academy to open a new horizon and provide a firm foundation for the development of Vietnamese football in the future.

He added that the academy promises to facilitate young players to train in an international environment.

Park’s contract with Vietnamese football ended last January after five years with outstanding achievements, including one AFF Cup championship in 2018, as well as advancement to the Asian Cup 2019 quarterfinals and the final round of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
