BAC GIANG - The 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) will be held in China from September 23 to October 8. The Vietnam Sports Delegation registered 337 athletes to compete in 31 games at the event, including track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh and wushu player Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy from Bac Giang province.
Before attending this ASIAD, Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals in athletics at the 32nd SEA Games. Although she did not win a medal when facing strong world-class opponents at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships (taking place in July) and the Athletics Championships World Cup 2023 (taking place in last August), the Bac Giang star runner still had impressive and commendable performances at her familiar running track of 1,500 m.
