Vietnam Railways to provide more trains on National Day

The railways sector has announced the addition of more trains to meet increasing travel demands on the occasion of the National Day (September 2).

Saigon Railways will operate an additional 35 trains on routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai and Da Nang, and vice versa, between August 29 and September 2.

The extra trains can accommodate up to 17,000 passengers.

Saigon Railways will operate an additional 35 trains on routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai and Da Nang, and vice versa.

Meanwhile, Hanoi Railways will add 18 trains during the holiday. Four trains will be added on the route connecting Hanoi with Da Nang.

Six more trains will run on the route linking Hanoi with Dong Hoi, and six additional trains will run on the route linking Hanoi with Vinh. The Hanoi-Lao Cai route will see two more trains.

Other rail routes from Hanoi will maintain regular operation and more coaches can be arranged in the case of increasing travel demand.

During the occasion of National Day, Hanoi Railways will maintain the discount programme for policy beneficiary people, students, Trade Union members and groups of 20 passengers and above.

State employees will have a three-day break on the occasion of National Day this year.
