Bac Giang invests in developing hi-end resorts, hotels as highlight to attract tourists

(BGO) - Taking advantage of the geographical location with many landscapes and relic sites, Bac Giang province is focusing on calling on investors to build high-quality resorts and hotels, therefore positioning the province's tourism products and creating a highlight to attract tourists, and elevate the local tourism.

The days after the Lunar New Year 2021, staff of the Center for Land Fund and Industrial Cluster Development of Viet Yen district gathered in villages in Trung Son and Huong Mai communes to pay compensation to local people and hand over clean grounds to the investor to kick off the Viet Yen golf course project.

Up to now, the locality has nearly completed the compensation and land clearance for the project. According to the design, on an area of 140 hectares, the Truong An Golf Investment Joint Stock Company (Nam Dinh province) will build a 36-hole golf course of international standard. Notably, the business will set aside nearly 30,000 square meters to build a 4-star hotel and resort villas.

According to the investor's representative, the Viet Yen golf course is located close to the Ring Road IV, making it convenient to attract visitors.

The past year marked the development of tourism infrastructure in the province despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Notably, the Prime Minister approved the plan to invest in building two golf courses: the Bac Giang golf course and resort in Luc Nam district and the Viet Yen golf course. Regarding tourism infrastructure, besides the four recognized 3- and 4-star hotels, there are also a number of high-quality hotels. Notably, on December 30, 2020, Sojo Bac Giang Hotel was officially inaugurated. The 16-storey hotel offers 120 4-star rooms which are designed to have open spaces, helping visitors to explore Bac Giang city right from the rooms.

In mid-2020, the Thu Giang Jewelry and Gemstones Company put into use the Suoi Mo Trade Center at Dum junction in Nghia Phuong commune (Luc Nam district). In addition to 32 rooms of 3-star standard, the enterprise also built kiosks to display the province's key and typical products. Company Director Nguyen Thi Thu Giang said: “Our goal is to bring the best service quality to tourists when visiting the Suoi Mo Ecotourism Area and the Tay Yen Tu Eco-spiritual Tourism Area. In the long term, we will connect with travel businesses and gardeners in the province to form a 2-day, 1-night package tour.

In order to tap local potential for tourism development, the Resolution of the 19th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure defines that diversifying types of high-quality services, forming a number of provincial-level tourism and service complexes, and developing tourism infrastructure in Bac Giang city and centers of districts as key tasks. To concretize the Resolution, in the 2020-2030 period, the province plans to build 11 golf courses in the localities, as well as attract investment in developing hotels, resorts and types of entertainment services. At present, FLC Group has surveyed and made planning for the investment project "FLC Bac Giang resort tourism, eco-sports and entertainment complex" in the area of Khuon Than Lake (Luc Ngan district). Meanwhile, VinGroup has surveyed 1,600 hectares of land in Tan Lieu commune (Yen Dung district) and Dong Son commune (Bac Giang city) to build golf courses, urban areas and resorts.

In the immediate future, the district People's Committee will coordinate with the provincial Department of Construction to complete the tourism development plan on the Nham Bien mountain range in the direction of forming a high-end entertainment area and resort complex. With financial sources to be raised from businesses, organizations and individuals, the district will focus investment on constructing works such as the Yen Dung golf course and service complex (phase 2), the Hang Dau eco-tourism area, and the Nham Bien ecological urban area.
