The enchanting grasslands of Tri An reservoir

Nestled within the vast expanse of the Tri An Reservoir, a remarkable sight awaits: lush green grasslands, reminiscent of a miniature steppe, offering a serene escape from bustling city life.

The Tri An Reservoir in Dong Nai Province, around 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City, is about 32,000 hectares in total area and serves the Tri An hydropower plant, the largest in southern Vietnam.

The profound green grasslands.

After prolonged heat waves drained the reservoir, profound green grasslands have formed following the first rains of the season.

The landscape can be challenging. In some areas, the ground is soft and motorcycles can get trapped in mud. Visitors must often continue on foot.

Approximately 10 km from the shoreline, in Phu Ly Commune, Vinh Cuu District, lies a cluster of soft green grass spanning about 10 hectares.

The thick high grass stands around 10 cm tall.

A small stream meanders through the grass, occasionally leaving behind water holes.

Chien, a visitor from Bien Hoa, the capital of Dong Nai, recommended that visitors prepare snacks, drinking water, and raincoats, as downpours can come as a surprise.

Loc, an amateur photographer from Long Thanh District, said: "Although the path leading to the middle of the reservoir is tough, the beautiful grassy plains make up for the efforts."
