Record of 69 delicious dishes made from Ca Mau crab set

A record of 69 delicious dishes made from Ca Mau crab was set at the King Crab Chef Contest, which took place in Thanh Nien Square, in the southernmost province of Ca Mau on December 25.

The event was held as part of a series of events of the first Ca Mau Crab Festival in 2022.

According to the organizers, the main dish and appetizer must use Ca Mau crab as an ingredient. Each team prepared presentation content about processing, ingredients, nutritional value, meaning and origin of the dish.

After nearly two hours of exciting competition, Hoang Hon - Dat Mui Restaurant from Ngoc Hien District won the first prize worth VND20 million. The second prize went to the Real Crab Cuisine Restaurant from Ca Mau City, while the third prize was shared by Cantho Eco Resort and KTC's Culinary - Hot Pot and Grill Restaurant.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Records Organisation awarded the decision to set a Vietnamese record with the content "The event of processing and performing the most dishes made from Ca Mau crab in Vietnam (69 dishes)", for the Ca Mau Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. At the same time, this organisation also jointly awarded a certificate to set a culinary record, Asian specialities for the dish named “U Minh fish sauce hot pot”.
