Luc Ngan boasts huge potential for spiritual and ecotourism

(BGO) – Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has well known for numerous visitors near and far as the “Kingdom of lychee”. Nowadays, this land is covered by various fruits all the year round, not only lychee, but also pomelo, orange, tangerine, persimmon... that help the local farmers earn high income and draw visitors. This land has rich potential for spiritual and ecologial tourism.

Here, tourists can place their feet to discover the remote hamlet, mountain, foggy valley, flowering hill, green path, ancient pagodas, modern villages ...Moreover, orchard tour has been formed and flourished for recent years.

The romantic beauty of Cam Son lake on autumn.

On lychee season, visitors should depart early from Bac Giang city to Chu town and Cam Son lake which shows the most beauty at sunrise and sunset. The deep blue water with rhythm wave seems to stretch to the horizon. They can hire a boat to travel along the lake to enjoy the fresh air on a hot summer day.

On the lake journey, the tourists may visit Dong Mam hamlet (Son Hai commune) as an island lying in the middle of the lake, enjoy the lunch with local specialties and take a rest on a hammock under the tree shade.

Any village in Luc Ngan district can become a tourist attraction. The district has 41 recognized relic sites (2 national and 39 provincial ones). Currently, several policies and solutions have been boosted to develop the tourism, especially community and ecotourism.

After departing from the lake, the visitors come to Vang hill in the afternoon to discover the local lychee orchard in Ho Dap commune. Hanoi guests prefer an address that is the GlobalGAP lychee orchard of Nung ethnic couple Luong Van Tai and Chu Thi Cuu in Na Hem hamlet, Ho Dap commune. They are ready to welcome the visitors to the orchard and offer them a diner with hill chicken and spring fish...with such a cheap price.

Early next day, the nature lovers can walk to Khanh Van temple by Luc Nam river (or Chu river) then leave for Khuon Than lake which is located at Kien Lao commune, about 10km away from Chu town, 50km from Bac Giang city and 100km from Hanoi. The lake is 240ha and surrounded by 800ha of green forest for all seasons. There are 5 small islands in the middle of the lake fully covered by old pine forest swinging in the wind.

Leaving this destination, Am Vai pagoda is waiting visitors by crossing Chu town, Nam Duong bridge to follow undulating road by the romantic hill. As recorded in Vietnamese geographic book Dai Nam nhat thong chi, Am Vai pagoda (Am ni tu) was built in Ly Dynasty among the system of pagodas and towers constructed under Tran dynasty along side the Tay Yen Tu side.

Time goes on, now only two ancient tower and stone with Buddha footprints exists. The locals restored a part of Tam bao tower on the old ground. The ancient Ngoc well is full all the year round. The legend told that some one can be lucky and happy without any sorrow after drinking the water from this source.

The pagoda festival is annually held on lunar March 23, drawing numerous Buddhist followers and visitors. The tour is ended when the tourists say goodbye to the ancient pagoda then return to Bac Giang city and Hanoi.

Another tour providing the spiritual ecological experience, orchard and new rural discovery is to Quy Son commune – Khanh Van temple – new rural commune Hong Giang – Ha temple – Chu town, Tan Moc commune which is homeland of labour hero Ly Loi Sang – Tam Giang and Ngoc Nuong temples.

Viet Yen invests in relic restoration together with tourism development
(BGO) – Viet Yen district (Bac Giang province) has paid due attention to restoring and promoting the value of historic and cultural relic sites in the area for recent 5 years, especially since implementing the Resolution No.44 of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Plan No.102 of the provincial People’s Committee about developing tourism in Bac Giang province in the period 2016 – 2020.
