A couple poses for the wedding photo at the flower garden.

“This time, the studio welcomes from 800 to 1,000 people on average while the number is doubled at weekends or on holidays”, said Duong.

He was born and grown up in this homeland seeing villagers face a lot of difficulties although they work very hard in the filed. Duong has kept in his mind how to change the cultivation method to gain economic efficiency.

As a photographer, he went to many beautiful places to take photos for brides and grooms. He realized his home village has suitable natural landscape and decided to build Rose Garden Film Studio to attract young people to take weeding photos.

Due to limited capital, at first the studio only had some rooms and flowers fields. Seeing the increasing needs, Duong rented land in Thuyen field area in 2013 to expand the model to nearly 8 hectares.

In this area, he planted flowers by season such as sunflower, butterfly flower, daisy, violet and vegetable and set up mini sceneries featuring architectural styles of some countries like Japan, China and European countries.

The film studio was mostly completed in 2016 not only to serve weeding photos taking but also to attract tourists. Thanks to support of the local government, Duong improved the traffic road to facilitate traffic. Besides, he hired agricultural engineers to plant and take care of flowers.

He built a 2,000-metre green house applying high technologies for flower nursery and growing clean vegetable.

He always seeks to renew the model. Since 2017, Le Van Duong has organized Sunflower Festival on New Year Occasion including exhibition of some Bac Giang’s signature products like dried pancake, Ke noodle, Da Mai noodle and cakes and My Do bean sweetened porridge.

Creating one more tourist site

Duong provides cuisine service meeting demands of some hundreds of people at the film studio. The studio attracted 2,000 visitors earning profit of some 1 billion VND (43,000USD) in 2016 while attracting 80,000 people earning 4 billion VND (172,400 USD) in 2018 and expected to lure 100,000 visitors this year.

Currently, the studio provides jobs for 30 to 35 laborers to plant and take care of flowers and vegetable, serve food and drink services and take photos earning from 4.5 to 6 million VND (193 to 258 USD) per month for each.

The studio owner cooperated with some tourism companies to make the tours such as the tour to Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Institute in Yen Dung district, handicraft villages and then Rose Garden.

“I am investing to build the experiencing tourism model in agriculture to bring new feelings to the tourists in which I will create an atmosphere for visitors to experience farm work like buffalo feeding and fish catching, take part in folk games and explore the traditional handicraft villages”.

Next New Year Occasion, Duong will organize Sunflower Festival at larger scale including traditional market model and displaying traditional handicraft products to introduce to visitors.
