Bac Giang connects traffic, creates momentum for breakthrough

(BGO) – Bac Giang province has invested in numerous traffic projects to enhance the connectivity, gradually complete the traffic system which help boost up trade exchange, attract investment for socio-economic development.

Focusing on key projects

According to the Department of Transport, Bac Giang defines development of traffic infrastructure system as key and prioritized task in 2021 – 2025 period to create momentum for socio-economic growth in each locality and province.

Package No.5a under the road construction project to link national road No.37 – No.17 - provincial road No.292 is completed and put in operation.

The province specially prioritizes to build new road and revamp existing routes toward external connection to serve industrial and tourism development. Implementing this policy, numerous traffic projects have been accelerated in the province to link the districts and city as well as connect Bac Giang with other provinces.

Particularly, one of the key traffic projects in the province in this period is to build the road to link national road No.37 (Viet Yen district) – national road No.17 (Tan Yen district) – provincial road No.292 (Lang Giang district) with total investment of over 678 billion VND from budget capital of center and province. It was commenced in September 2021 and now completed, helping ease the commuters in Viet Tien and Thuong Lan communes.

Similarly, package No.6 which built overpass over Thuong river from the section Km15+952,99 – Km16+700 by Tan Thinh Construction Company Limited was completed and put in use.

The road construction project to connect national road No.37 – 17 to Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen) passing the districts of Viet Yen, Tan Yen, Yen The with total investment of over 1,452 billion VND is accelerated.

It also revamps and upgrades branches of provincial road No.294 from crossroad of Tan Soi (Yen The district) to Phuc Son commune (Tan Yen district) together with several bridges. So far, 40 out of 42 km of total route have had clear plane and contractor has completed the road bed of 20 km.

Besides, there are many key traffic projects under investment and execution, such as revamping and upgrading project of national road No.31 passing Luc Ngan district with total cost of over 863 billion VND, Dong Viet bridge constriction project and its paths with total expense of nearly 1,500 billion VND, Nhu Nguyet bridge construction project with total investment of over 456 billion VND among others.

Synchronous infrastructure

Since 2021, the province has commenced about 20 huge scale traffic projects with total investment of thousands of billion VND. Many projects have been completed and put in operation while others completed each package, helping increase the synchronous traffic connectivity among localities and adjacent provinces, boost up trade exchange and support local socio-economic development.

From now on till 2025, the province plans to mobilize over 52 trillion VND to invest in traffic infrastructure, strongly develop road network, upgrade railway and inland waterways so as to link the means of transport.

Vice Head of the provincial Management Board for Traffic and Agriculture Investment and Construction Project (Management Board) Hoang Thanh Tung said the Management Board now acts as investor of 10 key traffic projects to build road and bridge with synchronous and modern traffic connection.

Recently, the province has paid due attention to applying policies to accelerate the investment attraction. One of the key solutions is to boost up synchronous traffic network development. As the result, the province always ranks in top ten localities nationwide in foreign investment attraction.

At the moment, six industrial parks in the province are almost occupied by more than 400 projects from various investors.

According to the Department of Transport, the priority of investment to traffic infrastructure under the motto “traffic must be one step ahead with modern and connective feature” will create condition to accelerate fast and sustainable economic growth, attract more foreign investors to the province.

Thus, from now on till 2025, the province plans to mobilize over 52 trillion VND to invest in traffic infrastructure, strongly develop road network, upgrade railway and inland waterways so as to link the means of transport.

Particularly, the province will revamp and upgrade 70km of national road and 259km of provincial road as well as build driving force routes with road surface of at least 18m and 4 vehicle lanes.
