BAC GIANG – Since early this year, total retail sales of goods and service revenue in Bac Giang province have continuously increased. It is estimated that by the end of September, revenue from retail and service business will exceed the yearly plan.
According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at more than 4.8 trillion VND (202.5 million USD) in September, up 4.9 percent compared to August and over 41.5 trillion VND in nine months, an increase of 14.6 percent over the same period in 2022, exceeding the 2023 plan by nearly 3 percent.

Of which, total retail sales of goods is estimated at more than 3.3 trillion VND in September, up 5.3 percent compared to the previous month and over 28.6 trillion VND in nine month period, up 11.6 percent over the same period last year.
Service revenue is estimated at more than 1.5 trillion VND in September, up 4.2 percent compared to the previous month and over 12.9 trillion VND in nine months, an increase of 21.7 percent year on year.
The above results were gained thanks to the prosperity in all types of trade and services, especially tourism activities, from the beginning of this year. Although the socio-economic situation is still difficult, Bac Giang's industrial sector continues developing and attracting many large projects.
Many businesses in industrial parks and clusters regain strong operation and attract tens of thousands of more workers from other provinces. Currently, the province has about 240,000 laborers working in industrial parks and clusters. The increase in the number of workers leads to the development of trade and services to meet the consumption needs of workers and local people.
