(BGO) – It’s the harvest season of early ripening lychee. Apart from caring, managing the growing area code (GAC) and conducting trade promotion, the facilities in charge of processing, packaging and producing utilities for lychee harvest season in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) have recently accelerated operation.
In 2023, Luc Ngan grows more than 17,000 hectares of lychee with estimated productivity of about 98,000 tonnes, including over 3,900 hectares of early ripening lychee.

These above-mentioned facilities have actively prepared production and business programmes after defining key consumption method by selling fresh lychees in domestic market, export fresh lychees, making dried and canned lychees or lychee juice among others.
According to some cooperatives and packaging facilities, the consumption markets at commercial center, supermarket or big city in China have recently preferred plastic basket instead of foam box to pack the fruit. So now the businesses have stored nearly one million products and planned to produce over two million products for packaging facilities in the whole season.

Hue Lan Industrial Ice Water Producing Facility in Chu township started producing ice bar from May 17 with average capacity of 600 bars per day and higher in peak period.
Besides 500,000 foam boxes in stock from last year, Tuyet Duong Company Limited in Chu township has maintained and repaired 5 production lines; arranged workers to clean up the workshop; prepared sufficient material and fuel to produce new product from June 2. Meanwhile, most of the lychee drying kilns in the district started preparing work for new season.
Hoang Vu Clean Agriculture Cooperative in Chu township has 9 members and grows more than 13 hectares of lychee in line with VietGAP standard. This year the Cooperative expects to harvest about 200 tonnes of fruits and buy 300 tonnes more to supply to domestic traders, electronic commercial platform and social network.

According to Nguyen The Thi, Vice Chairman of Luc Ngan district People’s Committee, this year the district targets to sell over 78,000 tonnes of fresh lychees (43,000 tonnes will be exported), consume 7,000 tonnes via e-commercial platforms, dry 9,500 tonnes, store in cold warehouse and industrially process 3,200 tonnes.

So far, 24 Chinese traders have registered to enter the district to buy lychees. To well prepare for the upcoming season, the district well manages 84 GAC and 173 qualified packaging facilities; instructs and popularizes regulation of fruit export to markets to prevent the commercial frauds.
Local authority strictly controls the codes of packing facility, labels, stamps and complies with the conditions per the standards and requirements of the markets to ensure the origin traceability.
The district People’s Committee also assigned the competent agencies to enhance supervision to have timely solution in any circumstance toward a smooth lychee season this year.
