(BGO) - Bac Giang lychee has entered the main season. This year, many businesses, cooperatives and households have actively diversified their distribution channels through e-commerce platforms and social networks, opening up many opportunities to bring the local special fruit farther with higher value.
Since 2022, Green Luc Ngan Cooperative in Dong Coc Commune (Luc Ngan district) has expanded its lychee sale channel through e-commerce platforms and social networks with initial success.
Representatives of e-commerce platform Sendo.vn (two on left) visit Luc Ngan district to survey and connect to sell local special fruit on the platform.
The Cooperative’s Deputy Director Ho Kieu Oanh shared: “Apart from traditional selling channels, last year we sold more than 100 tonnes of fresh lychees via online platforms in the markets of Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city among others. This year, the Cooperative has about 300 tonnes of lychee which are sold on social networks such as Zalo, Facebook, Tiktok and e-commerce platforms of FoodMap, GAPFood or Lazada, Safefruits. The sold quantity is expected to increase 10 percent comparing to last year figure”.
The Cooperative now sells hundreds of lychee boxes weighting from 5 to 10kg via online channels daily. Thanks to the stamp for origin traceability on the product package, the customer can check electronic record of lychee cultivation and harvest via bar code.
Some local transport agents and airlines joined hands in delivering local lychees to domestic markets. Meanwhile, the Cooperative members actively take photo, make video to introduce the local special fruits on individual fan page to popularize the product information. Moreover, the Cooperative regularly organize livestream in the garden to sell the fruits.
Some cooperatives in Luc Ngan district such as Giap Son Agriculture and Eco-Tourism Cooperative, Binh Nguyen Clean Agricultural Cooperative, Hong Xuan Agricultural Cooperative Production and General Service Business, Agricultural Cooperative. clean Hoang Vu… focus on online distribution. At the beginning of June 2023, Lazada and Postmart registered to sell lychee while more big platforms will participate in the upcoming time like Alibaba.com, Sendo.vn, Felix.store, Voso.vn, Shopee, Postmart.vn and Tiki.vn...
