Because Trung and his wife have go to work, their relatives help to take care of Dung and support her movement everyday.

It was even worse that the second child Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung (born in 2000) was detected heart disease when she was a grade-4 student. Borrowing some money, Trung took his daughter to the district and provincial hospitals then the Cardiovascular Center of E Hospital in Hanoi. After 3 month of treatment, he had to bring his daughter home because he ran out of money.

Moreover, since late 2019, Dung was detected polyarthritis disease. It is impossible to buy special medicine to cure their daughter when they even lack of money for living expenses and meals.

They were said about a good physician in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province who could cure osteoarthritis with Vietnamese traditional medicine and they bought the medicine for their daughter. Unfortunately, Dung developed complications after using some medicines with muscle twitching causing movement obstacles that she needs support.

Although Dung is 20 years old, she is as small as a secondary student. She can only grope along the wall within the house everyday. Her dreams and aspirations have been closed when she has two serious diseases.

Their family lives on the 4-million VND (172 USD) salary of Ban as a worker of a garment company and temporary wages of Trung as doing hired work. Their relatives are also poor; hence, they could not help to cure their daughter.

According to Duong Thuy Huong, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front of Hop Duc commune, Trung’s family is listed as nearly poor household who are living in a deteriorated house.

The communal people’s committee used 3 million VND (129 USD) to urgently support his family while guiding them to apply for social protection beneficiaries, supplement the list of poor households and request for free wheelchair at the district Red Cross Society.

Recently, the communal Fatherland Front and other unions have mobilized nearly 30 million VND (1,290 USD) to support Dung’s treatment in the hospital in Hanoi. However, this sum of money is not enough because it is very costly to cure her 2 diseases. Any support from donors is appreciated to help Dung overcome the severe diseases.
