Seminar discusses AI and content creation in journalism

A seminar entitled ‘Artificial intelligence (AI) and content creation and management in journalism’ was held on March 18 within the framework of the 2023 National Press Festival.

The event, co-organised by the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and Vietnam Television, provided a forum for experts, journalists, and leaders of press agencies, to discuss the current orientations of applying AI in content creation in multi-platform journalism while identifying opportunities and challenges facing journalism when AI enters the newsroom.

Speaking at the event, Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, stressed that digital transformation has been an inevitable trend in most socio-economic fields today.

Minh, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, emphasised that journalism must take the lead in the national digital transformation, by actively innovating its operation and bringing new experiences to readers, through digital technology solutions.

Discussions at the seminar focused on the application of AI in content creation in multi-platform journalism, virtual assistance testing in newsroom management and organisation, and the AI chatbot phenomenon ChatGPT.

The 7th National Press Awards on Party Building, the Bua Liem Vang (Golden Hammer and Sickle) Awards 2022, were presented at a ceremony held in Hanoi on February 3. Two prized articles from Bac Giang Newspaper were “Bac Giang industry – Journey from Zero” (5 issues) written by group of journalists Hai Anh – The Phuong – Trinh Lan (Prize C) and “A faithful belief” (5 issues) by group of journalists Thu Huong – Huu Trinh (consolation prize).
 
The pressure of “green growth” on agricultural exports to the EU
Vietnam’s agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover reached a record high of 53.22 billion USD in 2022, up 9.3% compared to 2021. However, in terms of export markets, Asia still accounted for 44.7% of the market share at the end of November 2022, while high-quality and important markets like Europe only accounted for 11.3% of the market share.
 
Press agencies contribute to NA’s success and nation's overall development
Leaders, reporters, editors, and employees of Dai Bieu Nhan Dan (The People's Representative) Newspaper and the National Assembly (NA)’s television channel should continue to unite and support each other because the development of the two agencies will contribute to the success of the NA as well as the overall development of the country.
