Bac Giang’s ICT index ranks fifth nationwide

BAC GIANG - The Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Information Technology Association have just announced the results of the 2022 ICT Index ranking (readiness index for Vietnam's application and development of information and communication technology). Bac Giang province achieved 0.5971 points, ranking 5th nationwide, up 24 places compared to 2020 (no evaluation or ranking was organized in 2021).

In particular, the province's component indices included: Technical infrastructure index (0.66 points); human infrastructure index (0.43 points); the information technology application index (0.71 points).

Bac Giang City has just put the Smart Urban Operation Center into operation.

This result reflects the efforts of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels in the province in investing in infrastructure and human resources to develop information technology and digital transformation.

The ICT Index is structured according to the United Nations' indicator system for evaluating and ranking e-government, including 3 component indices: technical infrastructure, human resource infrastructure and information technology applications.

Previously, in July 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced the Digital Transformation Index of ministries, branches, provinces and centrally-run cities in 2022, Bac Giang ranked 9th in the country, up 1 place compared to 2021.

Accordingly, Bac Giang province ranked 9th among 63 provinces and cities, 1 spot higher than 2021.
