(BGO) – Though Khe Ro Ecotourism Site (Khe Ro) in An Lac commune, Son Dong district of Bac Giang province has many advantages, the traffic difficulty becomes a wedge for visitors. The district People’s Committee determined to awake local tourism potentials by investing in several linkage routes.
Accelerating the progress
After Lunar New Year holiday, Hai Long Construction Investment Joint Stock Company in Bac Giang city has mobilized human resources and machinaries to speed up the project construction to build the road surface, road bed, drainage system and three bridges.

The technician in charge of the construction site Nguyen Van Quynh said since lunar January 9, 2023, nearly 60 workers and dozens of machinaries have been divided into three construction teams to implement specific tasks. To ensure the quality, the site commander and supervisor always accompany workers to timely offer technical instruction and assistance.
“So far, the road bed has been basically done and we have constructed three bridges. With such progress, the project is expected to complete and put in use in this year end, 9 months ahead of the set schedule,” Quynh said.
The route linking national road No.31 to Khe Ro totally stretches 3.66 km with the first end at Km0+00 crossing national road No.31 in Van Son commune and the other at Km3+66.8 in Khe Ro.
It is built with total cost of over 97.4 billion VND (over 4.1 million USD), including 76 billion VND from the provincial budget. To have plane for construction, the local competent agencies cooperated with authorities to boost up communication and call on more than 100 relevant households to receive compensation amount and hand over the land.
“The route not only eases the local commuters, accelerates the socio-economic development but also attracts more visitors to Khe Ro,” said Ma Van Canh, Chairman of An Lac communal People’s Committee.
Creating highlight for tourist attraction
Khe Ro is located in Tay Yen Tu Natural Reserve with many beautiful primitive forests and diverse fauna and flora as an ideal destination for travel lovers. However, the site attracted few visitors due to the traffic difficulty. The tourism revenue was far from the potential.

Adding to speed up the construction progress of the above mentioned route, this year the district continues executing the project to revamp and upgrade the route from national road No.279 to the center of An Lac commune with total cost of over 55 billion VND which is sourced from the National Target Programme for developing the socio-economy in the ethnic minority groups together with provincial and local budgets.
The communal People’s Committee plans to revamp the old road from the communal center to Khe Ro to create good path for trekkers. Besides, local authority has re-arranged the operation of the Community Based Tourism Cooperative in Na O hamlet; persuaded locals to beautify and restore the ethnic traditional housing space to welcome tourists who want to stay.
Since 2022, the commune has opened classes to teach ethnic language at the hamlets or teach the way to perform Dan Tinh (Tinh instrument) and Then singing at schools.
The Standing Board of the district Party Committee on May 17, 2021 issued Resolution about developing ecotourism, experimental tourism and community based tourism, particularly building community based tourism site in Na O hamlet in association with eco-forest tourism.
According to Vice Chairwoman of the district People’s Committee Tong Thi Huong Giang, the district has arranged expense for An Lac commune to make local general planning with focal point to build signature community based tourist site in Na O hamlet.
In this September, the district directs to organize Dan Tinh – Then Singing festival as a hightlight for Khe Ro tourism. In longterm, local authority will focus on making Khe Ro ecotourism site become product under One Commune One Product programme.
